STAND UP: Empowering VET Classrooms to Combat Cyberbullying

In a rapidly evolving digital landscape, the rise of cyberbullying poses significant challenges to educational institutions worldwide. Recognizing the severity of this issue, the STAND UP project has successfully concluded its 24-month initiative aimed at identifying and combatting cyberbullying in Vocational Education and Training (VET) classrooms. With partners from four different countries—Accion Laboral and Innohub from Spain, CWEP from Poland, DIAS VET from Greece, and Eurospeak from Ireland—the project has produced tangible outcomes to foster a safer and more secure learning environment.

Key Project Results:

  • Tailored Training Materials for VET Trainers:

The STAND UP project has developed specialized training materials catering to VET trainers. These resources are designed to equip educators with the knowledge and skills needed to detect and effectively combat cyberbullying within the classroom. Importantly, the content has been adapted to address potential confinement situations and the increasing prevalence of online education. VET trainers can access these materials here.

  • Student-Focused Training Materials:

Recognizing the importance of engaging students in the fight against cyberbullying, the project has created visually appealing and clear training materials. These resources are designed to capture students’ attention and ensure a comprehensive understanding of the information presented. By empowering students with the knowledge to identify and respond to cyberbullying, the STAND UP project aims to create a more resilient and proactive school community.

  • Comprehensive Mobile Application:

To enhance accessibility and engagement, the STAND UP project has developed a mobile application available on both Google Play and the Apple Store. This application serves as a centralized hub for training content for teachers and students. Additionally, it features a database with contacts at regional, national, and European levels, providing a valuable resource for immediate assistance. The app also includes a repository of useful resources within the European Union, such as complementary applications, articles, and reports to help educators navigate potential cyberbullying cases. The mobile application can be found on Google Play and the Apple Store.

The STAND UP project marks a significant step forward in addressing cyberbullying within VET classrooms. Through the collaborative efforts of partners from Spain, Poland, Greece, and Ireland, the initiative has not only raised awareness but has also provided practical tools and resources to empower both educators and students. The specialized training materials and mobile application ensure a holistic approach to combating cyberbullying, fostering a safer and more inclusive learning environment. As the STAND UP project concludes, its impact on VET classrooms will continue to resonate, contributing to the ongoing global effort to create a secure digital space for education.
